5 Tips For The Blogger In You

Firstly, I would like to thank Farrhad for having me guest post on Let’s Sermo.
When you blog, some things you should think about to make the user experience delightful are:
- How does my content flow with the topic of discussion
Many times content on blogs is garbled, causing the reader to get confused and not want to read the blog ever again. Remember, the readers are looking for easy flow and discussion.
- If I was a reader to my blog, would I actually read the content
This basically means, make your content appealing. When readers go to a blog, they want the content presented in an appealing way. Change up some colors, make it vibrant, kind of like this blog…it really catches the readers attention!
- Are the contrast colors of the theme easy on the eyes?
Your blog is not one big flash advertisement, so don’t make it as if it is one. This again, goes with the flow of the design. Make it nice colorful, interesting. Don’t have a black background with gray writing.
- Is my content different, making a reader want to visit my blog over someone else’s?
The big reason readers visit your blog is because they cannot find the same thing elsewhere. If you are presenting some form of news, add your own thoughts to it, give an opinion…This is the only reason readers would visit your blog.
- Are third party products that I am promoting, something I would use?
If you are promoting something, you want to really talk about the best only because your readers trust you, so if you promote something bad, and your readers get the product or service, you will lose their trust.

All a great tips to blog by, as a newbie I started out trying to make ‘different’ sites. Sometimes reading ebooks, and studying forums makes you lose the idea of making a really ‘new’ website. Instead a lot of people jjust try to capitalize on someone else’s ideas/content.
Great tips! Needed them as i am going to start blogging.
The key is being unique. No one will take notice of you if you are just a normal average Joe. At the end of the days, your contents are one of those things that either break or make your blog. Good write up.
