Rename the Recycle Bin

Have you ever tried to rename Recycle bin? You will never find an option to rename Recycle bin

I’m sure many people would be unaware of this trick, and thus decided to post it :)

You can rename recycle bin using registry key.

Just go to Start >Run > and type β€œregedit”.

Find this code β€œHKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/CLSID/{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}”

Now you can change the name of Recycle Bin as you like

Please stumble it if you liked this post :)

I went all the way down HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/CLSID/{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} but I can’t see how I can change the name. Are you sure this works with Vista 64bit?

  13. Hmmm…I could just right click the recycle bin and rename it. It’s so simple.

thats a pretty neat trick. It could be useful if you delete private stuff from your main documents and keep them in there. This way no one will snoop around in your recycle bin.
    till then,

  15. That is very interesting. I had never tried to do that. Does it mess up anything on the back end?
